A SPA MASSAGE is a full body session using the classic Swedish techniques. It contains remedial and relaxation massage techniques. I offer various pressures, from deep tissue to light touch. The option “a variety of pressures” means I use the pressure required to alleviate muscle tension, or you may indicate a preference for “deep tissue or light touch.”
The environment of the European Spa Massage is conducive to relaxing. The focus is creating a blissful experience with soft lighting and soothing music. There are add-on treatments, such as face, feet and scalp massages.
CLINICAL MASSAGES are different. The setting is more likely to be in or resemble a clinic, a private practice office, or hospital. First time clients may spend part of the session, or extra time, providing details of current and past health issues and complaints. Although this treatment may provide a strong element of relaxation, the many advanced techniques employed by a registered massage therapist are designed to address chronic health and pain issues.
The therapist focuses on one or two muscle groups or problem areas. On average, the massage itself is 20 minutes out of a one hour appointment. It is also likely that subsequent and frequent sessions are recommended to improve the condition in question. Your therapist designs a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Evaluations of the treatment are performed and recorded to document the success or failure of the treatment. A series of treatments are not usually offered in a value-priced package.
Both types of massage therapy have tremendous benefits to your health and wellness. The more you know about the specific differences between the two, the more likely you get exactly the treatment you are seeking.
First time customers receive 20% off a 60 or 90 minute massage. It combines Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Acupressure Point Therapy, Energy Balancing, Cupping and Hot Oil.
